Tequila Slammer: The Boom Boom Cocktail
Mix the ingredients in a glass, preferably a wide glass "on the rocks", and before serving, cover the glass (with your hand, a napkin or even a saucer) and gently tap the glass on the bar or table.
The Tequila Slammer, or also known as Tequila Boom Boom, is a cocktail that offers a somewhat different experience from other tequila drinks.
Why is the Tequila Slammer so well known? Well, in fact, therein lies the secret of its success, since this is actually a very simple recipe: two ingredients. However, despite its simplicity, it is the way it is served once prepared that makes it totally distinctive.
Tequila Slammer Shot Ingredients
As we have already mentioned, there are only two ingredients:
- 1 part/30ml Altos Plata
- 1 part/30 ml of Soda, Ginger Beer, Champagne, 7-up or similar.
Make no mistake, along with the tequila you don’t have to use all the drinks we propose, just one, the one you like the most. The idea is to accompany tequila with another soft drink that allows us to serve it “Boom Boom” style.
So, try champagne or sparkling wine for a more elegant drink, soda or 7-up for more effervescence and ginger beer for a peculiar flavor.
You can try to prepare it with ice, if you want.
How to Prepare this Tequila Boom Boom
Mix the ingredients in a glass, preferably a wide glass “on the rocks”, and before serving, cover the glass (with your hand, a napkin or even a saucer) and gently tap the glass on the bar or table.
And this was the secret, so we needed to mix the tequila with a fizzy drink, because when we hit the glass on the table it produces an effect similar to effervescence. We must drink the drink while it is in this state.
Olmeca Altos Tequila: Our Secret to Success
Every recipe has its particularities and, in some cases, its own secrets. In the case of Tequila Slammer , its secret was the “Boom”. For the Altos brand, the secret is quality, both in the raw materials and in the production process.
We do not make simple tequilas. Our aromas, flavors and textures are not simple. They are the result of applying quality in each of the steps that lead a 100% blue agave crop to become tequila. A premium tequila.
