How to Make a Pineapple Margarita Mix

This Pineapple Margarita mix is best enjoyed on the rocks, so ensure you have enough ice at reach. A beautiful salt rim also makes an excellent addition to the aesthetics of the cocktail. But if salt rims aren’t your thing, this refreshment is just as tasty without the salt!

  1. Prepare your glass: The rim not only adds to the beauty but also enhances the sweet and sour nuances in the drink (more on this below).
  2. Shake in a cocktail shaker: Pour the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, then shake vigorously until the shaker feels cold.
  3. Strain into a glass and serve with ice: Strain out the old ice and pour the drink over fresh ice. Garnish with lime wheels and pineapple wedges for the looks!

No cocktail shaker? A jar with a lid will work just as fine.

Elevate you Margarita With a Salt Rim

Whether you like your glass rim sweet, salty or spicy, here is an easy way to spice up your Pineapple Margarita recipe:

  1. Cut a notch in lime and run it around the rim. The lime juice adds a nice tang to the salt flavor.
  2. Pour some salt into a small plate or bowl, then dip the glass to coat. Carefully tilt the glass, so just the outside gets covered.

A Pineapple Margarita on the Rocks

Choosing between the classic margarita glass or a wider glass is not as simple as it seems. The former only allows for crushed ice, however, the latter has space for adding whole ice cubes, meaning that your drink will remain fresh and cold for a longer time. You can check more details about the different types of margarita glasses in our article.

Another discovery is that the wider width of the glass allows for enjoying the texture and flavor of the margarita in a more intense way, which is perfect for those who like to enjoy their drink until the last sip.

Our Own Pineapple Margarita Version

Do you love rich cocktails? Well, look no further than our Altos Pineapple Margarita recipe. The spirit base of our recipe is a split between tequila and mezcal, which gives the final drink a deep, complex flavor.

The Del Maguey Vida (mezcal in our recipe) beautifully complements the tequila with its spicy and smoky notes with light citrus and hazelnut hints. The result? A sweet/sour cocktail with buttery smoothness. We call it the Smokin’ Aces!

What is The Best Tequila for Margaritas?

Whether you prefer Blanco or Reposado tequila, the choice is all yours.

  • Tequila Blanco: Young and fiery. Aged for less than two months and has a robust straightforward flavor.
  • Tequila Reposado: Aged longer, typically from 2-12 months. More nuanced flavor with notes of oak and vanilla.
